A New Procedure Supports Businesses Investing in Renewable Energy

The procedure BG16FFPR003-4.011 “Support for Photovoltaic Systems and Facilities in Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” under the “Regions in Growth” Programme 2021–2027, within the “Just Transition” priority, has been officially launched.
The initiative is aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the regions of Stara Zagora, Pernik, and Kyustendil, with the goal of encouraging investments in sustainable energy solutions and supporting businesses in the process of energy transition.
The programme provides funding opportunities for:
- Photovoltaic systems for self-consumption with a capacity of up to 1 MW
- Photovoltaic power plants for electricity generation for sale with a capacity of up to 5 MW
- Energy storage systems (batteries)
The total budget of the procedure amounts to approximately BGN 141.7 million, making it one of the key opportunities for businesses in coal-affected regions to invest in energy efficiency and independence.
The application deadline is March 24, 2026.
